The most important question about the Transporter is how its DAC sounds compared to other outboard DACs. If we arbitrarily say that the Ethernet/SPDIF interface and "digital preamp" capabilities are worth $1000, is the Transporter DAC as good as $1000 outboard DACs? I suppose the answer will depend on which DACs it gets compared to, but I'm sure we'll be hearing comparison reports once the Transporter is out the door.
