I tried both the analog RCA connectors and the optical connector. After writing my previous post, I read in another thread that an analog input to the Yamaha is converted to digital to allow any signal processing to take place. I would also mention that I tend to use "Pure Direct" mode which shuts off all the AV processing stuff, tone controls and the display. I would guess that the Yamaha re-digitizing the analog SB3 output is more likely to affect the sound than either the SB3's DAC or the Yamaha's. I haven't tried the RCA coaxial digital output as I don't have a cable to hand. -- planetsweet ------------------------------------------------------------------------ planetsweet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6055 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26675 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
