Totoro -- you have a very nice system indeed. To a large degree, of
course, this is a subjective question. One persons's nuance is another
person's revelation. Personally, I went though the Lavry DA10 and a
Benchmark. I found the differences to be on the level of nuance --
when they were there at all. So, I ditched them, and am running the
SB3 directly to my amps (I know, it's a no-non; we're moving abroad, so
I've been dumping US power gear; I am going to buy a Transporter).

Anyway, here's my recommendation, in a nutshell: 1) deal with your
room; 2) get measuring equipment and a decent EQ box (the Behringer
2496 is just fine) and deal with EQ. You wouldn't believe what a
difference that makes, and 3) if you're still not happy, order the
Transporter. You know the company, we know something about the guts,
and it should be, DAC-wise, as good or better than a Lavry or anything
else.

SB3->Nuforce 9.02->Harbeth Monitor 30s/Skylan stands and Quad ESL-988s.
Simple and satisfying.
