As ezkcdude says, only re-rip if *you* can hear the difference in *your*
system.

However, I would add ... for all new rips, I'd suggest taking the
trouble to get yourself set up to rip in FLAC (or another lossless
format if you feel so inclined). It can't be any worse, it might be
better, and if in a few years you get yourself a new rig that reveals
the differences at least you won't have to re-rip the whole of your
collection again.  And you can always easily transcode from any
lossless format to any other format in the future, should other factors
change.
