I use dbpoweramp to rip my CDs to FLAC. The advantage over EAC that I see is that its much easier to get to grips with - has a ice UI. I used EAC for a while, and gave up trying to configure it (I get bored easily!). While I don't doubt that EAC is the top dog for ripping, I believe dbpoweramp does just as good a job. It also integrates with AccurateRip and freedb.
