In what ways do you think it is better than your 508?  I had a Meridian
DAC some time ago (a 24-bit 566), and I guess I just found it rather
cold and uninvolving.  The Shanling was a welcome improvement, and the
Transporter is tempting...

One problem with the 'hearing new things' claim is that when you go
back to your old system, you could hear them after all - it's just the
presentation that has changed.  In many cases, the old presentation
could be more realistic.  Let me know if you agree in a few days :)
