In what ways do you think it is better than your 508? I had a Meridian DAC some time ago (a 24-bit 566), and I guess I just found it rather cold and uninvolving. The Shanling was a welcome improvement, and the Transporter is tempting... One problem with the 'hearing new things' claim is that when you go back to your old system, you could hear them after all - it's just the presentation that has changed. In many cases, the old presentation could be more realistic. Let me know if you agree in a few days :) -- adamslim Shanling CDT-100, Rotel RT-990BX, Esoteric Audio Research 859, Living Voice Auditorium IIs, Nordost cables, Squeezebox due on my birthday :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ adamslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27948 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
