Sean's an engineer, I'm an engineer (degree-qualified, Chartered, time-served etc, etc). If that is what he said then I think we're allowed to disagree without it being a big deal.
So what am I not being objective about here? I'm simply posting a fact about my real experience in using the SB2/3 direct to a power amp. I don't have any vested interest in people not using a pre-amp; you can use one with the SB+ if you wish and indeed some people do - a Naim NAC552 (~£15K) in one case.
