The thing is, even if one refuses to accept that any equipment exists that will detect the effects of these mods (which is highly implausible if they actually make a difference) there is still a perfectly good way to demonstrate that they are worthwhile - just do a blind listening test and demonstrate that listeners can tell the difference, AND prefer the modded version blind. Human ears and brain are a perfectly good scientific instrument - they just have to be used under controlled circumstances. So all this argument over science having a long way to go, etc. is irrelevant to the main point, which is whether or not some or most of these mods are snake-oil. That can be decided cleanly and definitively in a few minutes. The fact that this is never done says a lot about the integrity of the industry. -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28080 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
