I've gone ahead and attached to the bug (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3001) current log output using the latest 6.5.1 nightly.
In the past I've seen various forum posts about certain streams not working until the built-in wma is disabled, I'll see if I can find a public stream.
