It depends on how good your system is and how budget-sensitive you are.
The Transporter not only has a great DAC, it also has lower-jitter and
lower-noise digital outpute.  To my ears, it sounds better as a purely
digital source than the SB3.  It's up to you whether that's worth the
money.

Yes.  Definitely, if you use an Infrant NAS -- they provide SlimServer
software which runs on the NAS.  Not sure if they're up to the 6.5
family required by the Transporter, but if not, I assume it'll happen
reasonably soon.

Yes.

No.  But that's one of the fundamental advantages of the Slim
architecture -- you put all the noisy computer equipment in a different
room, where you don't have to listen to it.
