Dear community,

my first post, please forgive any mistakes :)

I own a squeezebox 3 since several weeks now.

I love music since I was a small boy.

And so I love the SB3!

So here is my problem with it though:

All my music collection is ripped into straight WAV with EAC doing this
with a plextor SCSI drive (did quite a few comparisons before I ripped
my whole collection).

I am running slimserver v6.5 and firmware 64 on SB3.

The sound of the SB3 is quite good as I find.

But I have the following problem, and this is proven in several tests:

Sometimes my WAV files begin sounding very "digital" like poor bitrate
mp3s. I really hear this and I know the sounded better before.

So the only thing I can do then is to remove the power source of the
SB3 for a couple of seconds, then plug it in again.
I assume this resets the DAC and everything in the SB3 and my files
sound clean again.

I have done this up til now very often. I couldn't figure out, when the
problem occurs. Sometimes it starts again even after listening to just
one track. The difference is clearly audible.

It doesn't matter if I use the slimserver setting to disable the
internal DAC when powering down the SB3 via remote or to leave the DAC
on.

Does anyone know this problem and how it can be solved?

I noticed the problem when proudly showing the sound of known WAV files
to my friends and then I recognized the strange, digital sound. After I
disconnected the power source and replugged it everybody was saying WOW
great sound!

But I hate doing this!!!

Any help appreciated!
