Deleted? I don't think so... did you find a broken link to a discussion
or something?  You will find many threads here on the subject. In
particular, look for discussions about digital volume control where
we've talked about SNR and how to set the volume levels at the source
and the preamp. To answer your question no, changing the external PSU
will not materially affect the noise floor.
