Ok so I love my SB3 in my small family room system ( SB3, Bel Canto Dac 1, Nakamichi TA4a, Monitor Audio GR 10) I'm thinking that it's time to redo the big system in the living room. Currently it's Proac D25 / Rel StrataIII, Plinius 9200, Meridian GO8, Cardas Golden Reference spr cables, Kimber KS1030 int, Shunyata Hydra, and various Shunyata power cords, dedicated 20amp circuits. I'm thinking of replacing the Plinius with a tube power amp ( the Proac's love tubes) maybe a Mac, or CJ. And replacing the Meridian with a Transporter to direct drive the power amp. So what I'm wondering is the Transporter going to sound as good as: 1. The Meridian? 2.Does the Transporter sound as good as an excellent line stage? 3.Does this idea make sense? I figure I'll pick up a decent transport if I need to spin disc's. Thoughts, opinions? all are welcome!
