Very true.
Especially LPs that were reissued on the early CD days. Modern CDs by
engineers and artist who care about sound quality are quite good. Some
of the early stuff is dreadful.

I forgot about that, lots of cheap stuff works only at 48k sampling, and
then you do
a crude and rude  conversion to 44.1, which never works for quality. The
answer
is simple, make sure it really does 44.1k.
