OK,it's true that some development time went into the software. But even assuming some really large value for the hardware, say 7k, you're looking at a 5k hit for the software.
This is pretty far beyond what people generally spend for software for home. And I'm sorry, but it wasn't as hard to write as icc, say (the last thing I remember getting that cost 5k a seat). So even if it is really cool, its appeal will be only to people with _really_ high price elasticity. This is especially true as the market is just beginning for this kind of stuff, and once some larger companies get involved looking to make money on a large scale (logitech, anyone), we'll most likely be seeing lower prices for ease of access features. [flame suit on] I'd say this belongs right up there with >1k cables. :) [flame suit off] -- totoro _____________________________________________ squeezebox 3 -> mccormack dna .5 -> audio physic tempo 4 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ totoro's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5935 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28499 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
