What source material are you using? Try a regular 2-channel CD first. Perhaps the DVD player or the Transporter is having problems with Dolby Digital or DTS streams.
I'm a little fuzzy on this, but I think DD/DTS are sent using a specially-encoded PCM stream that the Transporter would have trouble with.
