SoftwireEngineer, you raise a good point. We might be getting heated up discussing things that on some quality amps and speakers just don't make a difference. I always thought the 'hash', 'noise', 'RF' from an old AU$5 PC switchmode power supply would destroy the sound of the SB. But, after an night of repeated experiments I feel it is a "significant" improvement over the standard PSU. Please note: IMHO and YMMV. I feel it is worthwhile others trying this and I'm going to try a few other PC PSUs I have lying around. I haven't tried a ATX PSU and as these are probably 95% of the PSU around these days, I can't suggest anyone use one yet. Like Tom, I also use a TP, so playing with the SB3 is just an interesting expercise. BTW: No ABX blind tests due to lack of resources. regards -- Greg Erskine ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29058 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
