Hi Mark, Unless I've haven't paid attention correctly, the Denon DRA F101 is strictly stereo audio, none of the fancy stuff you get on an A/V receiver. Additionally, it does have a direct/bypass mode, which is what I use, which bypasses the tone controls, etc., so I would suspect then that it does do ADC and then DAC unless you use the bypass mode. That's interesting, I'll have to do some listening and see if I can hear a difference....... I learn (or think I do!) something new every day!
