Right - if you see it on the visualizer, it is definitely a data or
software problem, not anything physically wrong with the SB3 or your
equipment.

This could be quite hard to track down unless you can find some pattern
to it. Next time you hear the clicks, try restarting that track and see
if you hear the clicks at the same place in the song. If you do, that
indicates either a problem with the file or a bug in the decoder, which
would be relatively easy to track down if it is reproducible like that.

Another thing to try is to turn OFF the visualizer and see if the
clicks go away. There may be some memory or timing exhaustion which is
triggered by system activity.

Finally, you might try reverting to a previous version of SlimServer.

Unfortunately if the problem is intermittent, it may be hard to tell if
any of those variables are even affecting it. You may want to call our
tech support and see if they've heard of anything like this.
