Well, maybe not weak, but I'd say you certainly can do better. I opted
for the RB1090 as my focus was on the stereo part, and I figured the
Denon could take care of all the surround channels. And it makes a nice
difference! The 1090 is in much better control of the B&Ws. I really
like the sound, and I can play really loud without it getting
unbearable :-) That's when I'm home alone though! Of course, I'd like
to add a 1075 or 1095 for the surround, but at the moment I simply
think that's not worth it for me. Maybe a mono Rotel amp just for the
center channel, that would be nice, so all front channels are "equal",
rotel-b&w. I don't think it matters much for the surround channels
(sr/sr/sbl/srb) though, the Denon is fine for those.
I'm really happy with the big Rotel. As they always say, for you it
depends on what you're looking for. Are you happy with the surround,
but do you want to optimize your stereo sound? Then adding a stereo
power amp is great. You'll be able to put some more money in the stereo
part then. If it's important for you to optimize all channels, then
maybe the 1095 would be cool (or 1080/1095 for 7-channel!). If you have
too much money, listen to the Classe amps, they are soooo nice :-)

PS. I just noticed the rb1090 disappeared from the Rotel web site. I
did read somewhere that they might be working on a followup. Maybe
that's why I could get it for a discount at the clearance center :-)
