This is not, I repeat, NOT a remark directed at highdudgeon's wife. It is a comment on a PERSONAL experience.
Our first son was born under distress and had to be yanked out via c-section seven weeks early. My wife and I were under great stress before, during and after because we didn't know if he was going to live or die. But what I remember most about the birth process was the anesthesiologist yammering away on his cell phone through the whole thing. I was on the verge of decking his ass right there in the operating room. The OB-GYN didn't seem to care, so I assume he was taking care of her, but come on! HAVE A LITTLE CONSIDERATION FOR THE FRIGGEN' PATIENT!!!
