Yes it's a social phenomenon for sure, haven't you seen the site hackaday.com? They once showed how to modify a Billy Big Mouth Bass in order to run linux and have custom greetings.
Getting to your main point; Take the Sonic Impact implementation of a Tripath chip for example. The Sonic Impact amplifier was obviously designed by EE's, yet they underspeced the coupling caps according to the datasheet, causing the bass to roll off at 100Hz. Did they know what they were doing? Yes, but it's not the ideal implementation. It doesn't require a fancy oil in paper capacitor, just one of the correct value as listed in the datasheet. Then there is the matter of the ugly box it comes in... -- Skunk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Skunk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2685 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31061 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
