I agree a BER of 1% is very large... that's why I was so blown away. But I think I misspoke here. Guess I should have looked more closely before posting... I am looking at the value called "Track Quality" of EAC. I frequently got a "Track Quality" of 99.5% to mostly 99.9% on about 1-2 tracks per CD about 60% of the time. If I eyeball it for a histogram I guess the major modes were at 100% and 99.9%. I assumed it meant something like bit error rate.... but its not quite. > > http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/eac11.html > Q: > What does the Track Quality really mean? A few times I get 99.7% or > 97.5%. It is a number related to excess reads, which still does tell you something about error rate. I can't translate it into a meaningful number though because there is no idea of how many errors per sector I hit and EAC does multiple re-reads for every error incident. What's an order of magnitude on a forum posting anyway... Sorry for the confusion. Guess its time to check out AccurateRip. -- Eric Carroll ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eric Carroll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9293 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31203 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
