It sounds great to me, but right now is a good example of 'cons':
silence because it wants new tubes. Twice it wanted them so badly it
blew a fuse. Everything worked great again with new tubes, so I would
say in general mine has been very reliable. I have a habit of sleeping
with it on, or forgetting to turn it off, ignoring the bias and abusing
it in general- and I would be considered obsessive by non audiophile
standards. They require care and feeding, but it's minimal as far as
tubes go.

The bias generally stays put until the tubes start going, you'll need a
multimeter to check it which is inconvenient compared to an autobiasing
amp like Antique Sound Labs. So add the cost of that if you don't own
one, as well as upgraded tubes which are recommended, to the final
cost.

Yes I'm looking to upgrade it. I want something that just works, more
transparent, and can be left on for days.
