Try to isolate the point at which the sibilance is occuring: 1) Disconnect your squeezebox from the amp and listen to the SB through the best headphones you have available;
2) Then connect the SB to the amp (speaker cables disconnected) listen via headphones plugged into the amp; 3) Next, hook up the speakers to the amp (check the polarity) and listen again. Try listening to each speaker on its own (is there a balance control on the amp?).
