Hi Peter, Regarding the digital output mod - we're basically re-routing the internal signal path and replace the stock RCA with a 75 Ohms BNC connector. We found the difference to a stock SB3 worthwile. Yes, upgrading to the 400 version at a later time and protecting your investment is no problem, but we might need to make the enclosure for the 400 version slightly bigger (power supply takes quite some space). We'll have testing results with the 400's finalized by february. Anyway, an upgrade would not be a problem.
