Mark, My VSX-49Txi has a "DIRECT" mode. The manual simply indicates it takes the "shortest path". Nowhere does it say it bypasses the DAC but I assume this is what it is doing. If you wanted, you could run BOTH the analog and digital cables in parallel (since both are active) and A/B it for comparison. I know my 49Txi can terminate both and let you select analog or digital input paths. -- Eric Carroll Transporter-Bryston 3B SST-Paradigm Reference Studio 60 v.4 SB3-Rotel RB890-B&W Matrix 805 SB3-Pioneer VSX-49TXi-Mirage OM7+C2+R2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eric Carroll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9293 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32077 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
