No, because the clipping is dependent on the voltage level of the signal level after both volume controls. You can set the Sb3 volume to 10/100 with analog volume 90/100.. OR Sb3 volume to 90/100 with analog volume to 10/100 (oversimplified), with equal liklihood of the amp clipping. I'm not sure how increased noise in the signal affects amp clipping though, if that's what you're asking. You don't want the increased noise though, so it's really a moot point i suppose. It's generally considered best to keep the digital volume as high as possible since you're going into an integrated. I asked a similar question a year ago and was given MUCH better responses than my own, so this may be of interest: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19697&page=2&highlight=class+a%2Fb -- Skunk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Skunk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2685 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32131 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
