I think that's a big part of it. The emotional connection is lost with 12,000 songs at one's immediate disposal. Pulling out the vinyl, cleaning the LP, droppping the needle -- complete with an intermission mid-way through -- requires a certain committment to the specific album in play. I have an LP player, but mostly for kicks. Also because there is a TON of material available, for cheap, at garage sales and swap meets. Its fun. But I don't fool myself that it's somehow "better" than CD. Listening to the first half of Kind of Blue, on LP, is a different kind of experience. -- FatElvis2000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ FatElvis2000's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6725 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32232 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
