My friend, PhilNYC argues quite reasonably that some differences in
sound quality are so obvious that double blind testing isn't
necessary.

Surprisingly, Opa seems to share that same view. He seems to be
admitting that double blind testing is such a pain that it's not worth
doing in most cases. And some things like speakers or room correction
make such a big difference that they don't need DBT.

So why are we arguing. Based on the following quote, it seems we're
arguing over what's important in audio. Opa feels that some of us are
wasting our time by frivolously spending our dollars and time on
meaningless tweaks.

Since some of us don't want to be told what we can and can't listen to
and what is important, we are subjected to the endless diatribes about
double blind testing that even our friend Opa admits is hard to do and
often not worth the trouble.

I respectfully request that our thought police leave us alone to our
follies. We're not hurting anyone and it would be a boring place
indeed if everyone thought exactly the same way.

With best regards,
