Face it, I believe everyone who posted on this thread would like to have
the best possible hi fi but either don't have the funds, the space, or
both. I like listening to music as much as the next poster but shelling
out money on $300 cables and cable blocks and everything else that a
supposed audiophile 'should' have, is just being excessive IMHO. I
don't consider myself to be an audiophile but i know when something
sounds crap. When I did an mp3/CD comparison test i was surprised at
how much of the soundstage you lose. i knew it lost some but i couldn't
believe how much. (so many hours reripping everything to FLAC. oh boy)

There's nothing like being able to appreciate music by just sitting a
listening on components that sound good to your ears. Maybe that's what
defines an audiophile: someone who can appreciate a wide variety of
music by taking the time to actually listen, making it less disposable
