I'm torn on this. I have the original CD release and the remaster of "Making Movies" and both have some quite noticeable tape noise. Otherwise the recording is good, and I know remastering out the tape hiss would have likely messed it up, but I never understood why the album was so noisy. "Love Over Gold" is a beautiful recording, and I have a West German pressing of the CD--in the early 90s it seemed the European CDs were often mastered more carefully than the US ones. I have several CDs from that era that I bought the European versions when I could, and they always sounded better. -- mrfantasy --Mike ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mrfantasy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1127 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32576 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
