I'm torn on this.  I have the original CD release and the remaster of
"Making Movies" and both have some quite noticeable tape noise. 
Otherwise the recording is good, and I know remastering out the tape
hiss would have likely messed it up, but I never understood why the
album was so noisy.  "Love Over Gold" is a beautiful recording, and I
have a West German pressing of the CD--in the early 90s it seemed the
European CDs were often mastered more carefully than the US ones.  I
have several CDs from that era that I bought the European versions when
I could, and they always sounded better.
