Thanks for the interesting link and explanation, which pretty much
answers most of my questions.

The closing line, 'let the ears beware', seems more like the mantra of
objectivists- but I like the article nonetheless. 

Now there is the issue of the red insulation on the Anti-Cables, which
I like as well :-) $1.40/' is not unreasonable IMHO.
