Try the Amperex 7308s PQ, JAN or USN. Mid 60s vintage if possible. Even the cheaper 6DJ8 Bugle Boy made in Holland, gives you much better sound than the stock Electroharmonix.
Also, upgrade the coupling caps to something better.
