This is a Slim Devices forum, so it's not unreasonable to assume that we
are talking about usage with Slim device.

Anyone running slimserver on a slow CPU, e.g. a NAS. In those cases, it
is better to stream in a format that is decoded natively on the client.

Because there's no way to control the stream if it is being transcoded.

Why not? It depends on priorities. If FF/REW is important to you then it
should be considered when making ones decision on which file format to use.

Hmmm. WMA lossless -> PCM -> FLAC. That server's going to be working
pretty hard. Better to store the stuff in FLAC format to begin with.
