I have always listened to my TP with XLR. I could never understand those
that said the TP was a bit hard and or bright on the top end.

I especially couldn't understand why anyone would prefer the Bolder mod
.The Bolder was no smoother in the top but it was less resolving and it
was veiled sounding.

Recently I tried the TP with RCA's . Both the RCA and the XLR are XLO
signature.

With the RCA the top end is slightly hard sounding, it is subtle but
easy to hear.
It is still good but not as good as the XLR.

The 2 were level matched and a friend switched for me. The switching on
my pre is inaudible, no click, no silence. I always prefered one and
that was the XLR. After doing this 5 times I said enough, it was enough
to convince me.
However I would never claim this was a scientific test............just
good enough for me.

My pre has only XLR input so I used Rowlands own adaptor input for the
RCA.

So the dif could be the adaptor .........or not.........

Has anyone ese done this comparison? Would someone else like to try it
and comment on this thread? I am curious if anyone else has this
result.

Tom
