I suspect that that is not a good way to tell at all. The peaks going above 16 bits will be very short in time. It's not as if a HDCD is mastered "hot" with lots of peek level. How many bytes difference did you get? Can you load the file into a sound editor and check for the peeks instead? -- P Floding No, I didn't ABX it. And I won't even if you ask me.
