I'm debating whether to remove my Arcam pre-amp from my system. Right now I'm using the Transporter to play PC music and to convert the digital two-channel signals from my cable box and PS3.
The Transporter is very close to serving as the ideal "two-channel pre-pro" I've been wishing for. (I have a multi-channel pre-pro in another system, and I've come to appreciate its broad functionality, but I've yet to find a similar device for two-channel operation.) I think the Transporter would be even better if it had a high-quality analog volume control, as found on pre-amps. This would presumably provide full volume range without loss of resolution. Another idea would be to include source switching buttons on the remote, so you don't have to drill down into menus to change from coax to TOSLINK, etc. -- gregeas ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gregeas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5877 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33216 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
