Welcome to the world of SB3. We're pioneering a new audiophile era. :-) Yes, it is easy to turn off all auto level and volume correction options on the SB. Pick the SB configuration options from SS and you'll find them easily enough. As to updates, go to http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html and get 6.5.1, which will also update the FW on the SB3 to the latest and greatest. Personally I stick with the main official releases and will only upgrade if it promises some major functionality I am interested in, sticking to the rule of "if it aint broke - dont fix it". 6.5.1 is a very good release. My CD player also can be used as a DA, and when I connected the SB3 via toslink I achieved sound parity with what I was used - it's only about a dozen albums where I do detect a difference if I listen to the CD directly. Quite incredible considering we're talking a $299 box!! Still amazes me, and over the last year about 10 people who listened to my setup went and bought SB. In a perfect world, I'd like the Transporter's DA packed into a SB3 format, perhaps with an LCD that shows album art and album and artist information on request - one thing I'd still keep CD boxes for is for a listing of contributing musicians and other album notes I like to read to feel closer to the music. -- pablolie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33226
