I wasn't trying to argue that point really, because I still think you're right. These companies have to submit their designs and financial records to MS to get them approved, and I doubt MS would leave the hardware digital loop open. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to shut down the software loop, once people start calling tech support. The block diagram of a receiver* looked, to an untrained eye, similar to how the Sb manipulates the digital input for volume control, which is why I brought it up originally. Modifying an ebay receiver might be a fun experiment, so if anyone has suggestions/ideas for tapping such a stream and routing to a S/PDIF out, that would be interesting. *http://focus.ti.com/vf/docs/blockdiagram.tsp?family=vf&blockDiagramId=6069 -- Skunk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Skunk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2685 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32967 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
