Good point. Any kind of DRM *will* be broken sooner or later.

For me, the biggest threat that the decline of the CD brings is that
once online distribution becomes the norm, it's highly likely that the
vast majority of music simply won't be available in a lossless format.
Let's face it, the need for lossless quality is only felt by a small
niche of music buyers. I fear that the big labels just won't bother to
cater for us.

So although I no longer actually play physical CDs, they remain my
source format of choice, and I for one will lament their demise when
the time comes.
