Two versions of the SB+ exist, one with a built in DAC, one without. As can be seen on my sig, I run a digital output via a Behringer 2496DEQ for room correction, before going onto my BC DAC. As such, I had no intention of using the built in DAC in the SB+, regardless of how good it is. I had been told that the digital output was a good deal better than the standard SB3, and the fact that it can compete with a good CD transport bears that out. I know a chap with a std SB3 who's heard a Meridian 500 transport (and that's a non-clocked 500), and thought that the 500 was a good deal better.
