I think it might be 20% on topic, the rest banter and insults. These forums are moderated but with a very light hand. It is a lot of work to do heavy moderation. For people reading it with email, kill filters are important. The forums have a similar feature. There are very few linear power supplies left in the world, for the past 30 years, switchers have been so much cheaper to run, and usually cheaper to build/make, that nearly every designer has switched. For as little power as a SqueezeBox draws, if I was worried about it, I'd use batteries, like the Sutherland PhD http://www.stereophile.com/phonopreamps/104sutherland/ Of course, that is a $3000 preamp to use to listen to vinyl, which is something that I can't get my head around. I had serious buck, linear tonearm turntables back in the early 70s. I have no interest if going back to vinyl, I won't ever go back to CDs once I learned how easy it is to listen with a SqueezeBox. I have gone thru the usual audiophile program, SqueezeBox, then SqueezeBox to DAC-1, now Transporter.
