Interesting, thanks for those. My limited experiments suggested to me that the noise in my case was being radiated by the output power lead from the PSU (adding a ferrite core at the PSU end significantly reduced the noise). I think the moral of the tale is that noise, once it exists, can get from A to B via several routes!
