You should be able to run the transporter set to max volume. This should then provide a similar output level to that of a standard cd player.
Things to check - you are going from rca outputs on the transporter to rca inputs on your amp. Or balanced output to balanced input. Not rca -> balanced or balanced to rca. The input on your amp is a line level input, not a phono (or record player) input. On the transporter software side, the volume should be set to max, and volume attenuation is not set in slimserver. Don't worry about what the VU meters on the transporter show.
