While getting a bit off the original question, you are quite right, you
can record your own DVD-Audio discs, as long as you don't need the MLP
option.

Discwelder was the first to offer an affordable package, but since then
others have joined in.

Steinberg's later Wavelabs (although pricey as a full audio editing
suite) can do it.

Cirlinca's authoring package (www.cirlinca.com) looks good as well, and
is the cheapest commercial package I've found.

There's also an open source free option in DVD-Author
(dvd-audio.sourceforge.net) although it's creator appears to have
stopped development work. Too bad, I've experimented with it, and it
worked fine for me!

As for a Squeezebox that's ready to play 24bit/96Khz, it's ready for
you to enjoy now, but it's called a Transporter! (Sorry, couldn't
resist!)

Cheers! and Enjoy the music!
Dave
