Thinking about what people actually want out of their stereo, it strikes me that there are three 'camps': - Pace, rhythm and timing - epitomised by Naim equipment, I guess, and analogue over 'bits' - Space and timbre - fidelity to the natural sound of instruments, valve junkies the lot of them (us!) - Clarity and impact - detail from full frequency range - big US kit I'm in camp 2 - a valve CD player and NOS DAC to go with my valve amp and high-eff speakers, yeah that's me! Can we compartmentalise ourselves so simply? Where are you guys at then? Where would we put the SB3, Transporter (and SB+?)
