I noticed this as well a while back.  Now I disable Inguz before
playing any pure tones.

My guess is that the DSP algorithm just doesn't handle pure tones very
well.  It functions by taking a Fourier transform, boosting the 15kHz
band by 4dB, and then FTing back.  In this case there will be exactly
zero power in the 15kHz band, and when it tries to boost 0 it must get
in trouble somewhere.  Maybe there's a division by zero somewhere in
the algorithm, or maybe it tries to boost by a very large amount,
clips, and then adjusts the gain down.
