Does a £200 CD player output audiophile quality? It's probably pretty similar, in general, so I push the question back to you: are you happy with the sound performance of a mid-range CD player like that?
If so, then you'll be fine with the SB3. If not, then you will start doing what many of us do - add a DAC, a better PSU, get it modified or buy an SB+ or Transporter. For me, the stock SB3 sounded pretty well unlistenable compared to my £1,500 CD player. Not that surprising, really, and no criticism of SD. It's OK, but don't expect miracles!
