You are correct, but I should point out that this is not the case for
Transporter. Transporter's DAC chip has balanced outputs, and they are
kept balanced all the way to the XLR connectors. The RCA outputs are
created by combining the balanced signals. I used 3Vrms for the
balanced outputs because it is somewhat of a de facto standard,
although much higher voltages are sometimes used.
